Spazio Ipotetico was created in 2021 with the idea of generating places in which it was possible to rethink the match between two concepts generally associated only with rehabilitative or therapeutic purposes: art and disability. Putting these two concepts into dialogue means relating a word that by its nature escapes categories and classification (art), with one that constitutes a classification in itself (disability): it is precisely from the connection of these two backgrounds that the social stigma that sees the disabled person as being in a constant state of non-possibility, can be overcome.

Creating this dialogue means generating spaces for meeting and participation, spaces of creativity where possibilities can be created: new, unexpected hypotheses.

Vision:

Spazio Ipotetico isn’t a space, it isn’t a project, nor a person, it does not belong to a person. Spazio Ipotetico is a thought, a posture, a different way of being and live relationships, a different way of looking at the world and at the people.

Mission:

The association wants to offer itself as a space in which every person – beyond the classification or diagnosis assigned – can encounter the pleasure and beauty of art, and express themselves through a free creative process oriented to their needs and desires.

Spazio Ipotetico works on different levels and projects:

Circus Aut Out: circus workshops with neurodivergent people

Hypothetical Circus: circus workshops open to all people, all languages, all physicalities and all uniquenesses.

Circus at school: circus workshops to create a process of social inclusion within the class groups at school and subsequently in the daily social context.

Daycare centers and nursing homes: activities and workshops within socio-healthcare facilities, using artistic and creative languages.

Trainings: for educators, teachers and circus trainers on our working methods with neurodivergent and disabled people.

Shows: creating and staging shows through which we try not to spectacularise disabilities but to show the beauty and uniqueness of each participant.
